HOW DID YOU GET INTO LAW LIBRARIANSHIP?

I was first exposed to the legal field when I was an undergraduate journalism student at the University of Georgia in Atlanta (UGA) and got assigned to the law school (not the law library) as part of the Federal Work-Study Program. After I graduated, I decided not to pursue journalism and applied for a project assistant position at a law firm. I got the job but did not know what I wanted to do long term. One day, an attorney I was supporting needed me to find and deliver a civil procedure book to the courthouse when she was in the middle of a trial. I had no idea where to look! Luckily, the law librarian helped me, and this planted the seed about becoming a law librarian. After researching it, I decided to get my MLIS. I was fortunate to find a library assistant position at Jones Day while I was working on my degree and have been here ever since, holding roles in technical services, research, and now electronic resources. I鈥檓 so thankful for my past experiences that led me to law librarianship!
