Description
The Excellence in Community Engagement Award recognizes outstanding and exceptional contributions by an 黑料社member, SIS, chapter, or law library, to engage and make a positive impact on their local community.
Community engagement is a critical responsibility of every member of the law library profession. The intent of this 黑料社award is to inspire, educate, and encourage community engagement by the 黑料社membership.
PROCESS
CRITERIA
- The program or initiative must have a positive effect on the local community. This could include access to legal resources, educational outreach, or collaboration with other community organizations.
- Date(s) of the project or activity must have taken place between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025.
- Nominees will be categorized into three groups: Individual (no operating budget required), organization with an annual operating budget of up to $999,999.99, and organization with an annual operating budget of $1,000,000 or more.
ELIGIBILITY
- An 黑料社member, SIS, chapter, or a law library, where at least one individual is an 黑料社member
- A maximum of three awards, with at least one award reserved for the Individual Category, based on the applications received.
SUBMISSION PROCESS
- The deadline for nominations is March 1, 2026.
- A Completed Nomination Form聽that includes the following:
- Brief description of the project or activity, including its location, venue, or delivery method, and how it demonstrates engagement with a community.
- Explanation of the goal of the project or activity, including whether the original goal was to create engagement or connection with a specific community or if that occurred as a side benefit.
- Description of the community which the project or activity succeeded in engaging and benefiting or in which the visibility of 黑料社and/or the profession was increased.
- Explanation of how the project was promoted, advertised, and utilized. Any testimonials, photographs, media coverage, etc. that show the response of the target audience (community) and/or the impact of the activity or program had on that audience or community.
- Email the completed nomination form and supporting documentation as a single PDF to Christopher Siwa.
AWARD PRESENTATION
The award shall be presented during the 黑料社Annual Meeting and it will be given in name of the Association.
